Dr. James McKinnell, MD is an infectious disease physician and Associate Professor of Medicine from UCLA. Dr. McKinnell has worked with acute care hospitals, long term acute care hospitals or LTACs, and skilled nursing facilities on practical strategies of infection prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship. Dr. McKinnell has over 50 peer-reviewed publications and is an active investigator on CDC, NIH, and AHRQ research programs. Dr. McKinnell is on the executive board of the Infectious Disease Association of California. He serves on the Los Angeles County Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance Committee. He is the Consulting Specialist on Antibiotic Resistance and Antimicrobial Stewardship for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
