Therese A Sage, PharmD

Dr. Therese Ann Sage received a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1988.  Subsequently, she received her Doctor of Pharmacy in 1991 at the University of Kentucky.  She completed a residency in hospital practice at The Veterans Administration in Tucson, Arizona.  Dr. Sage’s areas of interest over the 30 plus year she has practiced pharmacy include inpatient pharmacy, long term care, anticoagulation and developing preceptor education and ambulatory care services.  Her passion for the last 20+ years as the Pharmacy Student Program Coordinator includes both the education of pharmacy students in their final clinical year of school and building strong relationships with Schools of Pharmacy. In conjunction with this teaching program, she and select Sharp HealthCare orthopedic surgeons designed and built one of the most innovative total joint Coumadin ambulatory care programs at Sharp HealthCare.  Dr. Sage has been practicing at Sharp HealthCare since 4/1/1996; 25 years! She has always been physically active and was a competitive runner for greater than 25 years.  Since hanging up her running shoes, she has found yoga, Pilates and the gym to be her go to physical activities.  Lastly, she has raised three amazing children; an emergency medicine resident at Vanderbilt, an entrepreneur trained at Stanford as a physics engineer and ECON minor.  Her youngest, a daughter, is still in college double majoring in psychology and classical ballet.
