Overview

Now in its ninth year, the Sharp Grossmont Heart and Vascular Conference is recognized as one of the region's premier events for cardiovascular disease education.  The 2017 conference will feature a range of experts who will discuss advances in cardiovascular care. Attendees will have an opportunity to interact with colleagues and experts in a relaxing and intimate setting at the beautiful Rancho Bernardo Inn.

This conference is designed for physicians who specialize in primary care, internal medicine,  interventional cardiology,interventional radiology, and vascular surgery, as well as hospitalists, intensivists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and allied health practitioners interested in discovering new insight on cardiovascular disease from leading experts.



Objectives
Following this educational conference, attendees should be able to:
  1. Integrate advanced techniques and treatment options for wound care
  2. Discuss Brugada Syndrome and other cardiac genetic disorders
  3. Apply principles and techniques of transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) procedure
  4. Describe aspects and awareness in sudden cardiac death in young athletes
  5. Apply evidence-based criteria in the use of stem cell therapy in heart failure
  6. Implement practical approaches of percutaneous coronary intervention
  7. Outline the implications of health care reform initiatives
  8. List the indications for emergent management of acute limb ischemia
  9. Review the options and outcomes of percutaneous therapeutic interventions available for the treatment of peripheral artery disease
  10. Analyze medical interventional and surgical management for treatment and prevention of stroke

Registration

Conference Registration

Free for all physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and Sharp HealthCare employees.

Fee is $250 for non-Sharp-affiliated nurses and allied health care professionals.

No refunds will be given on or after Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017. No partial credit will be given.

Registration includes access to presentations via the conference website, parking, breakfast, snacks and lunch on day one.  

Refund, Substitution and Cancellation Policy
The course tuition, minus a $100 processing fee, is refundable if your cancellation is received by calling 1-858-499-4560 no later than Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2018. After this date, no refunds or credits will be granted. Sharp Grossmont Hospital reserves the right to cancel this conference, in which case a full refund of your registration fee will be provided. The hospital is unable to refund any travel-related costs in the event of conference cancellation.




Accreditation

Accreditation: Sharp HealthCare is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CME Credit: Sharp HealthCare designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should only claim the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurse Credit: The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes the use of Category 1 Continuing Medical Education credit toward credit contact hours. Report “ACCME Category 1 Credit” as BRN number. No BRN slip will be given. Participants must attend the entire conference to receive continuing education credit. 

Sonographer Credit: AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM meet the requirements of the ARDMS Accepted Continuing Education Evaluation Model System (AACEEMS). Participants must attend the entire conference to receive continuing education credit.
