Celebrating 17 years, this year’s conference will focus on the educational needs of primary care physicians, including family physicians, internists and any others interested in learning about the latest developments in the field of primary care medicine.

1. Recognize factors leading to inequities in medicine
2. Describe clinical features associated with bladder dysfunction
3. Discuss contemporary urological approaches to testosterone replacement therapy
4. Describe relationship between length of antibiotic therapy on development of resistance
5. Review Covid vaccine and treatment options
6. Recognize when an ankle injury not just a sprain
7. Implement non-interventional treatments for Osteoarthritis (OA)
8. Evaluate patients that present to the primary care office with anal pain.
9. Articulate to patients the basics of the robotic/minimally invasive approach to surgery.
10. Discuss initial workup of anemia and basic treatment options
11. Describe the rationale behind cancer screening guidelines
12. Recognize normal from abnormal findings in women’s reproductive systems
13. Summarize changes associated with menopause and their medical treatment options
14. Define the new paradigm for type 2 diabetes care
15. Identify new lipid agents and new indications
16. Recognize common heart rhythm problems
17. Review pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments of arrhythmias
18. Identify top 10 key practice changing takeaways from conference

Accreditation:  Sharp HealthCare is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CME Credit:  This activity has been approved for 15.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.  

AAFP Credit: The AAFP has reviewed Sharp HealthCare's 2021 Primary Care Conference and deemed it acceptable for up to 15.00 In-Person, Live (could include online) AAFP Prescribed credit. Term of Approval is from 11/30/2021 to 12/04/2021. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

PA Credit:  PAs may claim a maximum of 15.5 Category 1 credits for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.

NP Credit:  AANPCB accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)^TM issued by organizations accredited by ACCME as an equivalent number of hours of participation. 15.5 AMA PRA Category 1 credit = 15.5 contact hour.

 

       

Cultural & Linguistic Competency: This activity is in compliance with California Assembly Bill 1195 which requires that all CME activities comprising a patient care element include curriculum addressing the topic of cultural and linguistic competency.  The intent of this bill is to ensure that health care professionals are able to meet the cultural and linguistic concerns of a diverse patient population through effective and appropriate professional development.  Cultural and linguistic competency was incorporated into the planning of this activity.

Conference Rate:
$249 plus tax per night for a Terrace room (standard room)
$299 plus tax per night for Run of Ocean View rooms, single or double occupancy.
**A deposit of two nights room and tax is required to hold a room reservation and may be refunded if the hotel is notified outside of 14 days from the individual’s arrival date. Only one room may be reserved at this time.

Additional Fees:
$50 per person plus tax per night charge for more than 2 persons in any room, with a maximum of 4 persons per room. No charge for children 17 years of age and younger staying in the same room with parents utilizing existing bedding.
Porterage of $13 per person, per room for check-in and check-out service.
Housekeeping Attendant fee of $3/night
Overnight Valet Parking of $10/night.
Day Use valet parking for conference registrants is $10 per car, per day.
