Overview
This presentation will highlight some of the new E/M guidelines and will review Medicare’s response to the 2021 E/M office visit update.  We will outline the new technical corrections to the guidelines so that providers can better understand and; therefore, select the more accurate office visit code for their patient encounters.  In addition, we will review the proper use of the CPT code 99211 so that providers can avoid under-coding or misusing this E/M service. Finally, improved coding with the utilization of telemedicine will be discussed.
