SHC Infection Prevention Forum (SHIP) - 2023

This forum is also known as the System Infection Prevention Forum and is designed to:

Present surveillance data and review action plans to improve patient care outcomes;
Identify methods to evaluate and control multi-drug resistant organisms;
Practice hand hygiene compliance;
Classify c-diff mortality and morbidity;
Manage VRE/MRSA outbreaks; and
Offer feedback to pertinent committees.

1. Employ best practice sharing, evidence-based practice and excellence in performance at Sharp HealthCare facilities in infection prevention
2. Identify system wide approaches to infection prevention and control at Sharp HealthCare
3. Discuss enhanced coordination and effectiveness of infection prevention throughout the system
4. Formulate and distribute Sharp HealthCare policy and procedures regarding infection prevention
5. Develop and facilitate compliance with best practices based on CDC guidance and other expert bodies’ recommendations
6. Provide recommendations to the CEO council regarding infection prevention and control

Accreditation:  Sharp HealthCare is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CME Credit:  Sharp HealthCare designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

PA Credit:  PAs may claim a maximum of 1.5 Category 1 credits for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.

NP Credit:  AANPCB accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) issued by organizations accredited by ACCME as an equivalent number of hours of participation. 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 credit = 1.5 contact hour(s).

ABIM MOC Credit:  Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.5 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

MOCA 2.0 Credit:  This activity contributes to the CME component of the American Board of Anesthesiology’s redesigned Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology^(TM) (MOCA®) program, known as MOCA 2.0®. Please consult the ABA website, www.theABA.org, for a list of all MOCA 2.0 requirements.

 

Accreditation:  Sharp HealthCare is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

CPE Credit:  Sharp HealthCare designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 1.5 contact hours (1.5 CEUs).  Partial credit will not be awarded.  Pharmacists can verify their credits at  CPE Monitor within 30 days of completion of this activity.  UAN:

 LMFT/LCSWLPCC/LEP Credit:  Sharp HealthCare is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs (Provider number:  130750).  Sharp HealthCare maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.  Course meets the qualifications for 1.5 hour(s) of continuing education credit for LMFTs. LCSWs, LPCCs and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.  For LMFT/LCSWLPCC/LEP disciplines, course completion certificates will be emailed to the email address provided on course sign-in sheet within 10 business days.

       

Cultural & Linguistic Competency and Implicit Bias Standards: This activity is in compliance with California Assembly Bill 1195 which requires that all CME activities comprising a patient care element include curriculum addressing the topic of cultural and linguistic competency and in compliance with California Assembly Bill 241 which requires that all CME activities incorporate educational components to address factors identified as impacting the provider’s patient populations and disparities potentially caused and exacerbated.
