Objectives
Following this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Define Cardiometabolic Health: Broaden their understanding of cardiometabolic health and recognize its interconnected, systemic nature and common underlying pathophysiologies
  2. List the mechanisms of GLP-1-induced side effects
  3. List the new GLP-1 satiety-based hormones that will be available in the next 1 to 2 years
  4. Define Acute, Subacute, and Chronic cough and identify their common causes
  5. List pulmonary nodules and review risk stratification of pulmonary nodules based on patient and radiographic characteristics
  6. Identify the scientific principles behind the current revolution in gene editing and its potential to produce highly personalized therapies for cancer and genetic diseases
  7. Identify the intersection of biomedical science with popular culture, and the extent to which filmmakers strive to achieve scientific accuracy
  8. Identify the signs and symptoms of less common musculoskeletal problems for patients you’ll see in clinic
  9. Provide evidence-based approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of Rotator Cuff, Epicondylosis, Knee Osteoarthritis, and Ankle Sprains
  10. Define perimenopause and the hormonal changes that occur
  11. Identify new contraceptive methods on the horizon
  12. List the diagnoses and treatment options for sports injuries and degenerative diseases of the shoulder
  13. Differentiate common orthopaedic injuries and understand their initial work-up
  14. Define obesity as a chronic, relapsing disease, for long-term success
  15. Identify the role the gut microbiota plays in metabolic health and its interaction with dietary patterns
  16. Review the basis of latent tuberculosis testing and treatment
  17. Review development of eosinophilic pneumonia on daptomycin OPAT

Accreditation:  Sharp HealthCare is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Nurse Credit:  The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes the use of Category 1 Continuing Medical Education credit toward credit contact hours.  15.25 AMA PRA Category 1 credit = 15.25 contact hour(s). Report "ACCME Category 1 Credit" as BRN number.  No BRN slip will be given.  Participants must attend the entire conference to receive continuing education credits.

ABIM MOC Credit:  Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 15.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Bedding Request options – 1 King or 2 Queen Beds
