Overview

Breast Cancer - General Tumor Case discussion aimed at physicians and health care professionals.  Discussion covers classification, current publications, changes in treatment/competence and outcomes, identifying AJCC staging, treatment plan(s), prognostic indicators, and  national treatment guidelines for cancer patients.

Objectives
Following this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Develop multidisciplinary treatment strategies based on national clinical practice guidelines in oncology in order to improve quality of care for cancer patients
  2. Identify and discuss availability of relevant clinical trials with cancer patients and refer appropriately
  3. Identify supportive care needs; social work, genetics counseling, and/or other care services
  4. Appropriately refer cancer patients to palliative care
  5. Review, discuss and cite relevant medical literature

ABIM MOC Credit:  Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.00 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity.
