Humans have multiple systems to deal with acute stressors that threaten their existence. In this e-module we explore the neurobiology of trauma as well as brain structures, neurotransmitter pathways, hormonal systems, and immune systems.

Objectives
Following this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify the brain structures affected by trauma
  2. Identify the hormonal changes in trauma victims
  3. Summarize the immune system changes due to trauma
