  2. Define the fundamental concepts of human factors with emphasis on the role of ergonomics in ensuring patient safety. (P, T)
  3. Highlight the impact of ergonomics in system and process design. (P, T)
  4. Explore examples of human factors design as applied at Sharp HealthCare. (P, T)
  5. Discuss the impact of fatigue on handoffs and patient safety as influenced by work schedules. (P, T)
  6. Summarize the impact of human factors design in the daily practice of physicians. (P, T)

NP Credit:  AANPCB accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) issued by organizations accredited by ACCME as an equivalent number of hours of participation. 3.50 AMA PRA Category 1 credit = 3.50 contact hour(s).

Nurse Credit:  The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes the use of Category 1 Continuing Medical Education credit toward credit contact hours.  3.50 AMA PRA Category 1 credit = 3.50 contact hour(s). Report "ACCME Category 1 Credit" as BRN number.  No BRN slip will be given.  Participants must attend the entire conference to receive continuing education credits.

 

ABIM MOC Credit:  Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 3.50 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
