SHC Tenecteplase (TNKase): Thrombolytic Treatment in Acute Ischemic Stroke - Online

TNK is a new drug to Sharp healthCare and will be replacing Alteplase as a lifesaving clot busting drug administered in a stroke emergency. Sharp HealthCare has never used this drug for this purpose, thus the purpose of this e-module is to address the knowledge gap.

1. Describe the differences between alteplase and tenecteplase for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS)
2. Examine the role of tenecteplase for thrombolysis in AIS, including clinical trial data
3. Select appropriate dose and timing of tenecteplase for treating AIS

Cultural & Linguistic Competency and Implicit Bias Standards: This activity is in compliance with California Assembly Bill 1195 which requires that all CME activities comprising a patient care element include curriculum addressing the topic of cultural and linguistic competency and in compliance with California Assembly Bill 241 which requires that all CME activities incorporate educational components to address factors identified as impacting the provider’s patient populations and disparities potentially caused and exacerbated.
